Celebrity Portraits


A popular category. For a whimsical artist, Gary decided early on drawing celebrities—from the world of art and performance, from the world of sports, from the world of politics—was an ideal classroom, with well-known faces and expressions serving as his instructors. As it turned out, the public’s fascination with some of these celebrities translated into their interest in these portraits, which work best as reflections of inner life rather than caricatures.
